Do Skin Supplements Work? What the Research Shows
Skin supplements can help when a nutrient is missing, and the evidence for gains beyond that is thin. Sun protection, not smoking and a balanced diet have stronger support. Gelagen is one such gummy, and no study of it exists. Ask a clinician about skin concerns, since a supplement can delay a proper diagnosis.

What is clear?
Skin needs vitamins and minerals, and a shortage can show: scaly skin with low biotin, slow healing with low zinc, bleeding gums with low vitamin C. The American Academy of Dermatology says supplements help in deficiency but are not a general skin treatment (AAD, Supplements for your skin).
What is uncertain?
Whether adding more helps skin that already has enough. Some small studies exist for collagen peptides and other products, often funded by makers, and reviews call for better trials (Cleveland Clinic, Collagen supplements). For biotin, NIH says evidence for hair, skin and nails is limited (NIH ODS, Biotin).
What has stronger support?
Daily sunscreen, avoiding tanning, not smoking, enough sleep and a diet with fruit and vegetables (AAD, How to select sunscreen). These beat any pill. A moisturizer helps dry skin within days, and a clinician can treat acne and eczema, which gummies do not.

FAQ01
Gelagen questions people ask
Are skin supplements worth the money?
Only if a need exists. Otherwise they mostly cost money.
Can supplements replace skin care?
No. Care steps such as sunscreen are what has evidence.
Which skin supplement has the best evidence?
Evidence is strongest for fixing a deficiency, not for an extra boost.
Should I see a doctor first?
For a skin problem that lasts or changes, yes.
Do gummies work as well as pills?
The form is not the main question. The amounts, your intake and your need matter more, and no study compares them for skin.
