Editorial Standards: How We Write and Check the Gelagen Pages

Quick answer

We write from the brand's product sheet, the jar renders and public sources from NIH, FDA, CDC, FTC and dermatology societies. We do the label math ourselves, flag what we cannot verify, link every source, show no unverified reviews, disclose that we earn money from order links, and correct mistakes with a visible date. A clinician reviews health pages once a reviewer is confirmed.

Our rules01

What rules do we follow when writing about Gelagen?

We write what the sources support, say what they do not, and show our work so you can check it.

  • Every health statement links to a public source or is marked as our own arithmetic.
  • We quote the jar's marketing phrases in quotation marks and test them against evidence.
  • We do not claim that Gelagen treats, cures or prevents any disease.
  • We do not claim a country of origin, a maker or a certification that we have not seen.
  • We show prices only from the brand's product sheet and ask you to confirm at checkout.
  • We never name or compare competitors, and we do not claim celebrity or media endorsement.

Sources02

Which sources do we trust, and in what order?

Government health agencies and professional societies come first, the brand's own material second, and personal stories last.

Source tiers
TierExamplesUsed for
1NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, FDA, CDC, FTCNutrient facts, limits, lab warnings, rules
2American Academy of Dermatology, Cleveland Clinic, MedlinePlusSkin, hair and nail context
3The brand's product sheet and jar rendersWhat the product says about itself
4Personal reviews and testimonialsNot used unless verified

Sources are fetched and read before we cite them, and the Sources list at the foot of each page carries the date. When a page could not be fetched, we say so on our notes rather than cite it. The sales page, for example, blocks automated reading, so prices and guarantee terms come from the brand's product sheet and are marked "confirm at checkout".

Checking a claim03

How do we check a marketing claim?

We put the claim in quotation marks, find the nutrient or study behind it, and compare the dose and the people studied with Gelagen's.

1. Quote it

Copy the exact words from the jar or the sales material and put them in quotes.

2. Find the source

Look for the nutrient's fact sheet and any trial of the claim.

3. Match the dose

Compare the studied dose with the amount on the product sheet.

4. Match the people

Check whether the study was in people like the buyer, and whether they were deficient.

5. Say what is left

State what the evidence supports, what it does not, and what is missing.

The FTC says health claims need competent and reliable scientific evidence, generally human trials, and that research on an ingredient does not automatically support a product (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance). That is the bar we hold the jar's phrases to, and it is the reason the claims page reads as it does.

Conflicts of interest04

How do we handle our conflict of interest?

We name it, we keep commercial links separate from facts, and we do not let a commission change what a page says about a risk.

The conflict is simple. If you buy, we are paid. The way to keep it honest is to publish the reasons not to buy as plainly as the reasons to buy. That is why the biotin lab warning, the missing serving size, the lack of a trial and the unnamed maker each have their own prominent place. Order buttons are labeled as order buttons. They carry a sponsored link marking, and they appear after the information, not in place of it.

We do not take payment from the brand to change a claim, and we will not publish a review in return for a free jar.

Lines we will not cross05

What will we never publish?

We will not publish fake or unverified reviews, invented ratings, claims that Gelagen treats or prevents a disease, or endorsements by people or media that we cannot document.

  • No "FDA approved" claim for a supplement.
  • No struck-through prices, countdown clocks or "you save" claims.
  • No claim of a country of origin that we have not seen on the jar.
  • No comparison that names a competing product.
  • No photo presented as a customer unless the customer agreed and was verified.

The vendor's review photos on this site are used only as avatars in empty review slots, and each slot says so.

Label math06

How do we work out the percent Daily Values?

We divide each listed amount by FDA's adult Daily Value, show the result both for amounts per two gummies and per gummy, and mark it as our computation.

The Daily Values come from FDA's table (FDA, Daily Value). Because the product sheet gives no serving size, we cannot know which reading applies, so we show both and say which one a figure uses. When the printed label differs from our figures, the label wins, and we correct the page. See the label math page for every figure.

Medical review07

How does medical review work?

A licensed clinician checks health pages for accuracy and for claims that go beyond the sources, and their name and review date appear on the page.

Until a reviewer is confirmed, each page shows an open reviewer slot rather than a name. Review is not an endorsement of the product, and it is not individual medical advice. If a reviewer asks for a change, we make it and log the date.

Reviews policy08

How do we treat customer reviews?

We show a review only after we match it to an order and the buyer agrees, and we show complaints with the same weight as praise.

The rule exists because testimonials are easy to fabricate, as FDA warns, and because the FTC now bans fake and bought reviews (FTC, Fake Reviews Final Rule (2024)). Our review slots stay empty until real reviews fill them. The reviews page explains the process and invites yours.

Corrections09

How do we correct mistakes and update pages?

We correct errors as soon as we confirm them, change the date at the top of the page, and note the change in plain words.

We recheck prices, the guarantee and the contact details whenever the product sheet changes, and we recheck the health pages when a source updates. Send a correction to [email protected] with the page and the line. We read every message, and we thank you when you are right.

Disclosure

We earn money when you buy through our order links. We say so on every page, and it never changes what a page says about a risk or about the evidence.

FAQ10

Gelagen questions people ask

How do you decide what to include?

We include what a buyer needs to judge Gelagen: the listed nutrients, their amounts, how the amounts compare with Daily Values, what the sources say, the cautions, the prices and the guarantee. We leave out anything we cannot support.

Do you accept payment for positive coverage?

No. We earn commissions on orders, which is a conflict we disclose, but no one pays us for a positive line, and the FTC rule on fake and paid reviews is one we follow.

Why do you link to outside sources?

So you can check us. A claim with a link can be verified, and a claim without one has to be taken on trust. We keep to two outside links per section to keep pages readable.

What if two sources disagree?

We say so, name both, and give the more cautious reading. Where a source is silent, such as on the gummy's other ingredients, we say that it is silent instead of guessing.

Do you test Gelagen yourselves?

No. We do not run lab tests or clinical trials. Our work is reading, arithmetic and checking sources. If the brand shares an independent lab report, we will publish it.

Can the brand ask you to change a page?

It can ask, and we will correct a factual error, but we will not remove a caution or a gap because it is unflattering. A fair page names the weak points as plainly as the strong ones, and every change is dated.

What is the label desk?

It is the name we use for the team that writes the pages. It builds them from the product sheet, the jar renders and public sources, and it is not a laboratory or a clinic. The medical reviewer slot is separate.

How often are pages updated?

At least when the brand changes prices, the guarantee, the label or the contact details, and whenever a linked source changes. The date at the top of each page shows the last update.
