FDA statement01
What does the FDA disclaimer on Gelagen mean?
It means FDA has not evaluated what the product says about itself, and the product is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a disease.
Gelagen is a dietary supplement, not a treatment. Ask your doctor or pharmacist first if you are pregnant or nursing, take a blood thinner, a thyroid or antithyroid medicine or an antibiotic, or have a blood test coming up: 5,000 mcg of biotin can distort some results. Keep taking prescribed medicine. See side effects and interactions.
Supplement makers may describe how a nutrient affects the structure or function of the body, such as "supports healthy skin", but they must carry that statement beside the claim. A notice sent to FDA is not an approval, and FDA says it does not approve supplements before they are sold (FDA, Structure/Function Claims). The agency acts after a product is on the market, and it does not generally test supplements before they reach consumers (FDA, Q&A on Dietary Supplements).
"FDA registered facility" on a seller's badge is a different thing again. It means a site is on FDA's list. It does not mean the agency approved the gummies.
Medical limits02
Is the information on this site medical advice?
No: it is general information written by a label desk, it cannot account for your health, and it never replaces advice from a clinician who knows you.
| This site is | This site is not |
|---|---|
| A plain-language guide to the Gelagen label and public sources | A doctor, pharmacist or dietitian |
| A place to check amounts and cautions | A way to diagnose a condition |
| A pointer to NIH, FDA, CDC and FTC pages | A substitute for them |
| A referral site that earns commissions | The maker or the distributor |
Do not use the site to decide whether to start, stop or change a medicine. Never delay care because of something you read here. If you have a condition, take prescription medicine, are pregnant or nursing, or have regular blood tests, ask your clinician or pharmacist before taking any supplement, and show them the jar.
Affiliate disclosure03
How does this site earn money from Gelagen?
Every order button on this site is an affiliate link, and we earn a commission if you buy Gelagen after clicking it.
The FTC expects affiliate relationships to be clear, because they can affect what a reader trusts (FTC, Endorsement Guides Q&A). Our commission does not change your price. It also does not change what we write about a risk. We show the biotin lab-test warning, the missing serving size and the missing trial on the same pages as the order buttons, and the buttons carry a sponsored link marking. No one pays us to say something positive, and we do not accept free products in exchange for reviews.
Emergencies04
When should you stop taking Gelagen and get help?
Stop at once and call 911 for swelling of the face, lips or throat, trouble breathing or wheezing, chest pain or fainting, and call a clinician for milder symptoms.
- Hives, itching or a spreading rash: stop and call a clinician the same day.
- Swelling of the face, lips or throat, or trouble breathing: call 911.
- Chest pain, pressure or fainting: call 911 and say you take high-dose biotin.
- A child has eaten gummies: call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
- A product problem: report it to FDA through MedWatch (FDA, MedWatch).
Never stop or change a prescribed medicine because you started or stopped a supplement. Talk to the prescriber first.
Medicines and tests05
What should you tell a clinician before taking Gelagen?
Tell them every medicine and supplement you take, whether you are pregnant or nursing, and that Gelagen holds 5,000 mcg of biotin.
The reasons are concrete. The vitamin A in Gelagen is preformed, and NIH says too much in pregnancy can cause birth defects (NIH ODS, Vitamin A). Zinc can reduce the absorption of some antibiotics (NIH ODS, Zinc). Iodine matters with antithyroid medicine (NIH ODS, Iodine). And biotin at this level can distort blood tests, with the FDA warning about troponin (FDA, Biotin and troponin tests). None of those is a reason to panic. All are reasons to show the jar to a pharmacist or a doctor.
Bring the Supplement Facts panel, not only this website. A clinician needs the printed amounts, since we were not given a photograph of the label and the serving size is not stated in our material.
Testimonials06
Are the reviews and photos on this site proof that Gelagen works?
No: we show no customer reviews yet, and the photos in the empty review slots are the brand's avatars, not customers we know.
A testimonial is one person's experience, and it cannot show that a product caused a result. The FDA lists personal testimonials among its tip-offs for products to treat with caution (FDA, 6 Tip-offs to Rip-offs). Results vary between people, and any change you notice could have another cause. This site makes no promise that Gelagen will change your skin, hair or nails, and it publishes no before and after photos.
Accuracy07
How accurate is the information, and what should you do if you find an error?
We work from the brand's product sheet and public sources, we mark our own arithmetic, and we cannot promise that every figure matches the jar you receive.
We were not given a photo of the printed label. Where the printed jar differs from this site, the jar is right. Prices, the guarantee and shipping are set by the brand and can change, so confirm them at checkout. If you spot a mistake, email [email protected], and we will correct it and show the date. The editorial standards explain our method, and the terms set out the rest.
Nothing on this site is a promise of a result. Skin, hair and nails differ from person to person, and many things other than a supplement change them. Use the pages to ask better questions, not to replace the answers a clinician can give you.
FAQ08
Gelagen questions people ask
Is Gelagen approved by the FDA?
No. FDA does not approve dietary supplements before sale. A facility registration badge is not approval, and the statement on the jar is the standard disclaimer that the agency has not evaluated the claims.
Does this website give medical advice?
No. It gives general information to help you read a label and ask better questions. Your clinician can advise on your own case.
What is an affiliate link?
A link that credits a sale to the site that sent you, so we earn a commission if you buy. It does not raise your price, and we mark it as sponsored.
Can I rely on the percentages shown here?
Treat them as our computation from the product sheet and FDA's Daily Values. If your jar's panel shows different figures, the jar is right. See the label math page for how each was made.
What should I do in an emergency?
Call 911 for swelling of the face or throat, trouble breathing, chest pain or fainting. Tell the team you take high-dose biotin. Do not wait for a lab result or a reply from the order desk.
Who pays for this website?
Affiliate commissions on orders placed through its links. No one pays us for favorable wording, and we publish the cautions beside the buttons.
