Gelagen Fact Check: Claims Versus Evidence
Gelagen's jar carries three captions: Youthful Glow, Deep Hydration and Smooth Appearance. No study of the gummies supports them, and the sources on single nutrients are thin for skin. The facts we can confirm are the ingredient list, the biotin dose and the lab-test caution. Claims need more than captions, and a caption on a jar is not a measurement of anything.

Youthful Glow
No definition, no measure and no study. Glow is subjective. Sleep, hydration, sun and smoking affect it more than a vitamin can, according to dermatology sources (AAD, Supplement myths). The caption is marketing language, and we treat it as such.
Deep Hydration and Smooth Appearance
Skin hydration depends on water, the skin barrier, climate and moisturizers. A vitamin gummy is not shown to change it. Smooth appearance has the same problem. The AAD says supplements are not a substitute for skin care, and biotin helps only in deficiency (AAD, Supplements for your skin).
5,000 mcg of biotin
This one is a fact: the dose is about 167 times the Daily Value if it is per two gummies. What it does is the issue. NIH says evidence for hair, skin and nails is limited (NIH ODS, Biotin), and the dose can distort blood tests.

See packsWhat stands up?
The ingredient list, the amounts, the dose and the caution. What does not stand up yet is any claim of a result. Our claims versus evidence page sets this out in a table, and the ingredients page covers each line. When you read any ad, ask three things: what is measured, in whom, and for how long. If the ad cannot answer, the claim is a slogan.
