Gelagen vs a Basic Multivitamin: Do You Need Both?
Most of Gelagen's 13 listed nutrients appear in a basic multivitamin at similar or higher amounts. The difference is the large biotin dose, 5,000 mcg, and the skin captions on the jar. Taking both adds up vitamin A, zinc and folate, so total them. For most people one product is enough, and a multivitamin costs far less.

What do they share?
Vitamins A, C, D, E, B6, B12, folate, pantothenic acid, zinc and iodine usually appear in both, in amounts near one Daily Value (NIH ODS, Multivitamin/mineral). Gelagen's amounts are mostly modest, so a multivitamin often matches or beats it on the shared names, and adds minerals such as calcium and magnesium that Gelagen does not list.
What is different?
Biotin. A typical multivitamin has 30 to 300 mcg, and Gelagen lists 5,000 mcg. Gelagen's choline and inositol are traces. The jar also carries skin captions and a gummy form, which some people prefer. Neither difference is shown to change skin by itself.
What happens if you take both?
Vitamin A, zinc, folate and B12 add up, and the biotin dose still dominates lab-test concerns. If a multivitamin has 900 mcg of vitamin A and Gelagen adds 630, the total passes 1,500 mcg, well under the upper limit but a lot for pregnancy (NIH ODS, Vitamin A). Total each line before you combine.
