Skin Cancer, Sun Protection and Supplements
No supplement, Gelagen included, is shown to prevent skin cancer, and we make no such claim. What reduces risk is sun protection: shade, clothing, hats and sunscreen, plus no tanning and regular skin checks. A new, changing or bleeding spot needs a clinician, not a gummy.

What does protect skin?
CDC and the AAD advise shade, protective clothing, wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses and broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher, reapplied about every two hours and after swimming (CDC, Skin cancer prevention). Avoid tanning beds. These steps have far stronger support than any pill.
What about supplements?
Antioxidant vitamins have been studied for cancer prevention in large trials without the clear benefit people hoped for, and some high-dose products raised risks in certain groups. Gelagen's vitamins are modest, and we make no prevention claim for them (AAD, Supplements for your skin).
What should you watch on your skin?
The AAD advises checking for spots that are new, changing, asymmetrical, with uneven borders or colors, larger than a pencil eraser, or that itch, bleed or do not heal (AAD, How to select sunscreen). Have them seen promptly. A yearly exam may be advised if you are at higher risk.

Book a skin check if you have never had one, and photograph any spots you are watching so changes are easier to see over time.
